The Terry story

The Terry is the lovechild of two creative Brisbane businesses - the iconic Togninis hair salon group, and sustainability workwear manufacturer BeauTex - who care about making the planet great again. 

You may have heard of Togninis... they’re among Australia’s most award-winning salons who’ve been in the game for over 30 years. 

And over that time, they’ve seen and experienced the excessive waste from spending tens of thousands on single-use disposable towels each year.

It’s not great for the environment or our bottom-lines. 

There had to be a better sustainable waste solution. 

Enter BeauTex. Founded by Brooke Jones, this Brisbane manufacturer and workwear designer is passionate about all things social, ethical, and environmental for businesses!  

And after some epic collaborative match-making… The Terry was born!

About Togninis

Togninis - one of Australia’s leading salons - was founded by Benni Tognini and his wife Tracey over 30 years ago in 1987. 

What started with haircuts and styling, Togninis has since become one of Australia’s most award-winning hair salons. 

In 2020, sons Jules Tognini (three-time hair educator of the year), and GM Kristian Tognini, took over the reins for the business.

Togninis philosophy is all about making hair iconically you - fun, personal, stylish, and playful, without needing lots of effort, especially to fit in our hectic lives!

The Togninis team are also founders of its beautiful new sister salon in Windsor, Hey Hair - Brisbane's newest blonde and balayage salon. 

They’re also founders of JoeBloe and Josiebloe hair regrowth products, and the award-winning lil’ off the top and hEducation Agency.

And Togninis have made sure sustainability continues to be a focus in every part of their work. 

From creating and using The Terries, to the no-nasty products we use, to the water-saving basins (saving  up to 65% water and energy), and our Hey Hair salon chairs made of renewable wood  and recycled plastic, we’re passionate about doing good for your hair, for the soul and for the planet.

Founder and director of BeauTex Designs, Brooke Jones is the supply chain solutionist and workwear designer, providing a new way of manufacturing that improves on current practices socially, ethically, and environmentally. 

BeauTex is passionate about helping companies look in their own backyard and go from outsourcing and discarding, to turning wasted resources into their workwear.
